Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour involving young women.
The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published more than 40 books in total, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
